This affair surely got out of hand. Deejiganda Papanna, a rowdy-sheeter, was shot on Sunday by his son Milan and neighbour Kashi. The incident took place in Garvale, Somwarpet taluk. While Kashi shot Papanna after the latter accused him of having an affair with his wife, Milan shot Papanna for assaulting his mother earlier.


Papanna, who allegedly stayed with his mistress until recently in Bangalore, was nabbed on charges of smuggling. On being released from prison last week, Papanna went to Garvale to live with his wife and children. However, Papanna and his wife quarrelled frequently, and on Sunday night, he accused his wife of having an affair with Kashi. He assaulted her and then went to Kashi’s house with a billhook.


Kashi confronted Papanna with a double-barrel gun and shot him. Milan, who was enraged after Papanna hit his mother, arrived at the spot and shot his father in the chest with another gun. Later, they surrendered. They have been remanded to judicial custody.
